Hi all,

Glad this is such an active newsgroup. Things put in seem to be getting a
great response. And let's tone down my hars statement about the unnecessity
of master-pupil studdy.

When learning to play the first instrument one learns not only to 'handle'
the instrument but also one has to learn to play and feel the music. The
second instrument (in case one already knows "what" music is) is merely the
"handling" of the instrument.

In my case I learned to play music a long time before when playing trombone
and double bass - of course having had teachers and all.

And, when I want to play written music, directed or in bands - I play in
classical settings or bigbands - I have the instruments to do it with. When
wanting to improvise or find "self' it's the Shaku.

And admitting: one of the other reasons is the absense of a teacher near by.
If there would be, I guess I would have my instructions every now and then
:-)

Made an ideology out of my limitatioins :-)

C ya all
