Notice to Shakuhachi enthusiasts in the LA area:
Michael Chikuzen Gould (Dai Shihan specializing in the
Watazumi/Yokoyama style) will be in Santa Barbara
offering private and group lessons on the following dates:
Wed. June 29 evening group lesson
Thur. July 1st Daytime private lessons;
evening group lesson
Fri. July 2nd morning private lessons
Michael studied in Japan for over 15 years with Yokoyama Katsuya and
Taniguchi Yoshinobu. Recently, he has been teaching
shakuhachi at Oberlin College and The University of Michigan, and was a
faculty member at Wittenberg University in the Asian Studies Department.
The site of the lessons will be in Santa Barbara and will be
announced a week in advance.
Fees are: group lesson $50. (3 hours)
private lesson $50. (1 hr.+)
