Hi Andres,

One good book for beginners is Christopher Blaesdel's book on the
shakuhachi; it gives the fingering for Kinko style, and can help get you
started with the instrument. It also has a good history of the shakuhachi
as well. The International Shakuhachi Society gives out a free book,
Annals of the International Shakuhachi Society, with membership, which is
quite informative, and has the nomenclature for Kinko, Tozan, and Chikuho
ryus, along with interesting articles by players such as "Yohmei"
Blaesdel, John Kaizan Neptune (Tozan), Riley Lee (Chikuho), and Watazumi
Do. Also check the books and articles section on Monty's website
(shakuhachi.com) for other books on the instrument.

                                                  Ciao,

                                                         Dan Ribble
