Question re: Japanese Folk Music
In Taniguchi's playing guide: How to Play the Shakuhachi - he provides the
notation to several folk songs - but the notation is very short - it takes
about thirty seconds, to a max of one minute to play each individual song.
I assume these are just short snipets of the actual peices. Is this a
correct assumption? How long do the actual traditional folk music songs tend
to be?
Secondly, what would be the easiest way to get the notation to the full
version of these popular songs like Tanko Bushi?
and by the way...my vote is for reply - to the whole group.
