To bring up shakuhachi on celluloid again, I just saw a wonderful new
film by Vancouver filmmaker, Linda Ohama called OBAACHAN's GARDEN winner
of Canadian Entry Audience Favorite Award at 2001 Vancouver
International Film Festival and recepient of numerous other film awards.
Apart from being a wonderful, beautiful film, the music and image of
shakuhachi player Takeo Yamashiro is featured on it. Don't miss it when
it comes to your city.
