I also practice zazen, soto zen based on what I learned in the short time I
spent at Tassajara and books, and had attended a rinzai sitting group in New
Jersey until it disbanded. unfortunately, i've not yet officially become a
student of any particular teacher. I feel zazen is critical to my practice
of the honkyoku, and in turn honkyoku to zazen, and o-kyo. (sutra practice).
i guess they just became naturally intertwined. I would be interested to
hear others` methods of integrating them and indeed finding adequate time to
fully engage in both.
