A traditional love story spun in a lyrical style, Ballad of Yachiyo tells
the story of a young Japanese-American girl's sexual awakening and tragic
end. It is set against the harsh backdrop of Hawaii's early twentieth
century sugarcane plantations and is tempered with tradition, tea ritual
and refinement.
