where to get cheap root-end stock

For those who would like to experiment with making shakuhachi and
want a root end but don't want to pay $75 - $200 for a single piece,
try Frank's Cane and Rush Supply. $4 a pop for 36" long root ends.
At that price you can mess up a bit learning the basics. It's not
fine Madake bamboo, but it's definetly better than what you're going
to find elsewhere here in the States.
