Seventh Annual Shakuhachi/Tai Chi Chuan Retreat
This retreat is held in Erongaricuaro, Mexico. This lovely village is in th=

province of Michoacan, and study with a local herbalist is also possible.
There are also Spanish lessons available from a local teacher. We take over
a large Hacienda known as El Molino. The Tai Chi Chuan Instructor is Maggie
Newman, and the shakuhachi is Ronnie Nyogetsu Seldin (Beginners accepted).

Annual 17-Day Trip to Japan
This is a trip that Ronnie Nyogetsu Seldin has annually led since 1980. We
focus mostly on Nara, Kyoto, Ise and Tokyo, but we also go to smaller
villages like Hitachi-Shi. In addition to (optional) lessons with (Living
National Treasure) Aoki Reibo, Ronnie Nyogetsu Seldin, and Kurahashi-Yoshio
Sensei, we will visit Shakuhachi Makers, and hear concerts. We will also, o=

course, visit Temples, Imperial Gardens as well as other beautiful gardens
like Kokedera (the "Moss" garden), Kabuki, and a lot more !! A fantastic

Annual Cherry Blossom Festival (Sakura Matsuri)
Brooklyn Botanical Gardens
This year, as in every year from its inception, the Shakuhachi Dojo of
Ronnie Nyogetsu Reishin Seldin will take part. As in past precious years it
will be led by James Nyoraku Schlefer (Saturday), Allen Nyoshin Steir, and
Dan Nyohaku Soergel (Sunday). Along with other students of the Dojo, they
will perform on both days at the Alfred White Memorial (inside the

First KiSuiAn Sankyoku Camp
For the first time, the annual KiSuiAn Camp in Pottstown, PA, will feature
Sankyoku (classical Japanese trio -ensemble repertoire) study only. It will
begin at 10:30AM Saturday moning, and end on Monday morning at 10:30AM. In
addition to Shakuhachi players of all levels, Koto and Shamisen players are
invited as well to what will certainly be an informative and rewarding
experience ! There will be classes and concerts as well as private lessons.

The fourth International World Shakuhachi Festival
In the spirit of the three great International Shakuhachi Festivals that
have gone before, we are very pleased to announce the upcoming Fourth
International Shakuhachi Festival. This exciting world-class event will be
held in the heart of Greenwich Village, New York City, at the brand new
Performing Arts facilities on the campus of New York University.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE Provide a diverse program classes, panel discussions
and concerts for Shakuhachi players of all levels, from the top teachers an=

performers of all the major schools and styles: Kinko-Ryu, Tozan-Ryu,
ChikuHo-Ryu, Ueda-Ryu, Neza-Sa-Ha (Kinpu-Ryu), as well as Dokyoku, Myoan

largest (80 students) and most active Shakuhachi Dojo, outside of Japan.
