Hm, I was told by a Japanese person that urushi is a vine growing mainly in
Hokkaidou, with sumac-like leaves...

We might also mention the poison ivy-like rash, *urushikabure*, to which
about half of the Japanese population is susceptible. As a beginning
student playing a brand-new instrument, I quickly developed such a rash
where the instrument rested between my lower lip and chin. My teacher
kindly loaned me his (old, excellent) instrument.
