In response to the question, "what is 'no mind'?" Anyone who has seen "The
Last Samurai" recently glimpsed a striking visual definition--how to survive
when you have no sword and are being attacked by a half-dozen highly skilled
martial arts guys who want to cut off your head. A beautifully choreographed
scene.

Someone who no-name writes to our list about no-mind, " The place of no
expectations, no memory, no angst, no tension, nothing but each breath...a lifetime
in each breath." Ah, so, but why stop at the breath? Why not, "no
breath," as well? Why not be dead already--then there's nothing to worry about. A
good goal for the new year, no breath in each breath down the shakuhachi.

Peace,
Jonas
