Ken,

I don't like windy. I'd like something resonant in at least the low range.
Maybe this is a rare quality.

I'm considering getting a different size/key shakuhachi, i.e., different from
the 1.8. I want to a lower pitch. I'm looking for a good, resonant sound
(aren't we all), and don't care about the key. A different way to ask the question
is, what's the most popular size, after the 1.8? I think that once I have the
size, e.g., 2.4, I need to try some to find the timbre I'm looking for.
(2.0) and (2.4) are popular sizes other than 1.8. I have a 2.2. on my site
that plays well. Dense bamboo, but jinashi so it is not too heavy. Good volume,
quick attack. Are you looking for something larger bored and windier? or
smaller bored and more pure toned?..or something in between?...
