Hi Philip.

I don't know of any shamisen or koto players in Ireland, but there are lo=
ads=20
in London. The best person to ask would be Michael Coxall (shakuhachi pla=
yer=20
at SOAS), who knows a bunch of koto players, also some students or newly=20
graduates from Geidai etc. Michael is a great person and shares very happ=
ily=20
information, so e-mail him at mc9@soas.ac.uk

Take care,
Kiku

P.S. I posted to the list last week, but it seems not to have got through=
.=20
Someone asked about the version of Koku on Okuda Atsuya's CD Sound of Zen=
. I=20
checked the score, and it only says it is a Zensabo version, and I do not=
=20
recall any particular explanarion of Koku's origin from his lessons. Zens=
abo=20
is Okuda's "school".

Does anyone have any ideas about ways to contact koto/shamisen players (via other discussion lists, etc.)? I've tried to contact players in Ireland on several occasions by contacting the embassy, doing internet searches and putting up posters in Japanese restaurants. But all to no avail. I'm dying to play some sankyoku again. Maybe there are no koto/shamisen players in Ireland! I'm prepared to travel to the UK or Europe though. Any advice would be appreciated.

Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8. Get 2 months FREE*.
