Go back in time with award-winning poet and novelist Diane Frank as she
reads from Blackberries in the Dream House, the forbidden love story of a
geisha and a Buddhist monk in Kyoto 150 years ago... with Nelson Lee on
shakuhachi flute. This exotic love story is narrated from inside the soul
of the geisha, and brings the geisha arts to life for the modern day reader=
.
The author researched her novel in the geisha districts of Kyoto, but added
her unique artistic flair in the genre of magical realism. Filled with the
sensual delights of two bodies in love, this novel flows with color and
texture. Since the publication of her novel, Ms. Frank has been captivatin=
g
audiences with her lyrical prose and stories of the geisha community of
Kyoto. On KPFA, Caroline Casey praised Blackberries as "Feisty, healing,
sensual water to pour on the world right now." Its powerful language,
visionary wisdom, and exotic love story create an impression that lasts far
beyond the end of the book.

Diane Frank is an award winning poet and novelist. Her friends describe he=
r
as a harem of seven women in one very small body. She has mentored hundred=
s
of writers at San Francisco State University, City College of San Francisco=
,
The University of Vermont, and the Professional Writing Program at MIU in
Iowa. She lives in San Francisco, where she dances, plays cello, and
creates her life as an art form. She is also a documentary scriptwriter
with expertise in Eastern and sacred art.

Thank you so much for your support,
