[Shaku] Help in Understanding

I've just read 10 e-mails about Bodhichitta and all missed the target,
although some did touch on it. It isn't something you can be shown or taught, it
isn't an intellectually discernable thing. Bodhi mind develops as your
Buddhist practice matures, usually after much meditation and head banging with a
good teacher.

You meditate because you meditate, you play the flute because you play the
flute. Don't play games with your head, don't try to "figure it out" just do
it. No goals, no picking and choosing.

The Shakuhachi is a liturgical instrument, a part of Zen Buddhism, approach
it as a spiritual practice or approach it as an instrument to be learned and
mastered. You can't do both.

For those that don't know me, I'm a Soto Zen Buddhist and a student of
Ronnie Seldin.

In Gassho,

Kyosei
