Dear Distinguished Friends
I hope you are in good health and spirits at 2006 winds down. Please allow
me to inform you of a 26 December benefit program featuring a concert of
Indian, Japanese and Sri Lankan music &Japanese and Sinhalese dance, along
with situation report and various displays. All proceeds go to support
children victimized by the 2006 tsunami and the two decades of civil war in
the beautiful island nation of Sri Lanka. Assistance will be in the form of
building of orphanages, cleaning and rebuilding wells, educational support.
For the cause, I will be singing in Hindi, Sinhalese, and Japanese, and
playing Indian classical music on Japanese shakuhachi and Indian sitar.
Previously, I was honored to be featured artist in the Foreign
Correspondents' Club of Japan 2006 Charity Concert for Sri Lanka on 12
November 2006, when a considerable sum was raised for another NPO with
similar objectives.
