The Honkyoku Notation of Jin Nyodo

Listed below are the individual works in the recently released set of Jin Nyodo Honkyoku notation. Many, if not most of these have more than one work per page. This is not to save paper or space, but reflects the way that Jin Nyodo wrote his notation.

My thanks to Mary Lu Brandwein who checked, frequently corrected and completed my "translation" of these titles. [Note: "translation" in this case involved taking the list of pieces in the notation set, in Kanji, comparing it to the Kanji list of pieces in the CD set released last year, and then matching the numbers from that set to the list of titles of Jin Nyodo pieces that appeared, translated (no quotes), in Hogaku, Vol. 3, No. 2, 1989.]

The piece of "Mujushin Kyoku that is shown here is not scanned from the notation in the recently released set. It is identical to #26 in the set in terms of what is on the page, but was scanned from a copy that was not in especially good shape.

The numbers here correspond to the individual piece of notation in the set.
