FTP a Word File from a Mac to Weber

Scenerio: You have a file, created on the Mac with MS Word and you want to get it into your weber account so that you can do something with it like mail it to someone.

1. Open the file with Word. First, under the Format Menu, "Document" section, set the right margin to 3 inches. Then, under the File menu, select "Save As" In the dialog box, select "Save File as Type:" and then slide down to "Text Only With Line Breaks." When the dialog box returns to the "Save As" box, create a new, Unix-legit [*] filename and save the file.

Close Word immediately.

2. Move the file so that it is on the same drive and in the same folder as Telnet. Ftp will like you better.

3. Open telnet and login to your weber account.

4. Grab your mouse and drag down the File menu to FTP Enable.

5. Hold the cloverleaf key down and hit the "f" key. This initiates an ftp (File Transfer Protocol) session

6. At the "ftp>" prompt, type: get filename

(where "filename" is the name of the file you wish to transfer from the Mac to weber).

7. When the "ftp>" prompt returns, quit ftp.

Do what you like with the file.
