Dear Adam,

When I was living in Japan, I got a two CD set of entitled _Haru no umi /
Rokudan_ released by Victor Ongaku Sangyou. The first CD is mostly of koto
repetoire by Miyagi Michio but has an overwhelmingly sensitive rendition of
Haru no umi. The shakuhachi player is Aoki Suzushita. The recording never
fails to move me. Actually, it was that recording that inspired me to
start learning the shakuhachi.
The entire CD set is 4500 yen, a hefty fee if you are just interested in
"Haru no umi," the only shakuhachi piece on the album, but the rest of the
album is also quite wonderful.
Best wishes,
