My new cd has just been released on Abray Productions "Mystical Journey"
is a duet featuring Abbey Rader on percussion and myself on shakuhachi.
Recorded in Miami this past winter during the first meeting between us.
Abbey is mostly known for his brilliant straight ahead playing; featured in
many ensembles led by Mal Waldron and John Handy. He has forayed into many
experimental settings of new and world music with the likes of L.
Subramanim and Keshavan Maslak.
Abbey is usually known for his brillaint trap set playing but n this cd he
performs on a variety of percussion instruments including Ashko, various
asian gongs and cymbals.
This is the third duet cd in a trilogy that Abbey has released; the otehr
duet cds being with David Leibman and Keshavan Maslak.
