Dear Customers and supporters of the Melbourne Shakuhachi centre, there are
several news items for the months of September and October. On the concert
front, IPS is playing on October 3rd featuring shak repertoire and more
lasers. There is currently a CD in the works for release in mid-October and
will feature repertoire including Contemporary Japanese composers and
improvisations. The IPS website has moved to the Christmas Hills Computer
Music Project studio site and concert dates and details; including reviews
and audio grabs, can be accessed from there. New products to watch out for
include a new version of the Melb-shak 7-hole, [a 1.8 seven-hole with a
low E-natural instead of Eb], and Japanese moss-lanterns!!

More important on the shak buying front, many of you not living anywhere
remotely near Australia may not yet have noticed how incredibly low our
Aussie dollar currently is. Last week it dropped to around 50 cents US. Now
is a good time to consider a unique, rugged and beautiful sounding flute
constructed from the finest of Australian hard-woods. All prices on our
website are in Australian dollars so for some of you out there, flutes are
currently exceptionally good value!

In addition, the Melbourne Shakuhachi centre is happy to announce
Myrtle-mania; a special deal program running on all myrtle shaks until the
end of October. The "Month of Myrtle" actually runs for two months during
which time we will be selling flutes at some good prices. Our 1.8 Myrtle
introductory special is Aus$470.00 and for the many masses of you already
owning quality 1.8s these other sizes may tempt you:

[all flutes are constructed from beautiful, rugged and durable myrtle. They
come complete with silver Uta-guchi inlays, silver and rattan centre
joints.]

1.4 is Aus$ 520.00,
1.9 is Aus$ 540.00,
2.0 is Aus$ 560.00.

Please specify whether you would like a light or dark stain.
