Lecture Concert for Solo Shakuhachi
Fuke Shakuhachi: From Nezasaha to Kyushu
On October 17, Masakazu Yoshizawa will continue his series of
concerts and lectures on the history of the shakuhachi tradition
and music with a lecture and performance of music from the time of
the Komuso - the Fuke Zen era.
Mr. Yoshizawa will be playing historically important pieces dating
from the 16th to the 19th centuries.
The lecture will examine the relationships between Meian and Kinko
works and the concert program will include pieces from the Meian
and Kinko-ryu repertoires.
Lecture II will take place Sunday, October 17th, 1999, at 2:00 in
the afternoon in the Cultural Room on the 5th Floor of the JACCC
(Japan/American Community Cultural Center) 244 South San Pedro in
Little Tokyo, Los Angeles.
