Regarding the discussion on published notation:
If it's available at a price, someone will buy it, regardless of what
'it' is and whether or not the selling of 'it' is a positive or negative
activity.
The shakuhachi tradition includes notation in many forms and systems and
these notation systems are distributed in many, largely informal ways.
The notation is not the music, and certainly is not the honkyoku.
