lonely in Atlanta

Hello fellow Shakuhachiists,
My name is Damon Atkinson and I've only just discovered this newslist after moving to Georgia. I originally began with Shakuhachi some 6-7 years ago in Massachusetts, thanks to a CD that featured my first experience with honkyoku. Upon reading the jacket information I was excited to learn that the artist lived not 20 minutes from me and he also happened to be a teacher, his name is David Duncavage. I began studying with David while at the same time I was also practicing Zazen. The two disciplines helped me to stay focused and gain some kind of clarity in my day-to-day routine. After about 8 months of study with David, changes in our jobs broke off my studies. Then after about a 5 year lapse of almost no practice I reconnected with Daivd and began studying all over again. Now, our history has repeated, and I've relocated to Alpharetta, Georgia (which is in the north metro Atlanta area). So now I'm looking for other players in this area whom I can talk to and maybe pratice with and share experiences in playing. It is very difficult finding the discipline to practice alone. I wish I could find that focus and clarity that I once had and cherished. I know that this clarity and focus come from practice, dedication, self-discipline and love. The hard part is finding the self-discipline to get the ball rolling. If anyone can offer me their insights on how they have overcome this initial obstacle I would be most appreciative. Also if their are any out there in the Atlanta area who play or appreciate shakuhachi I would love to hear from you.
Happy Blowing,
Damon Atkinson
