Zachary makes a good point in introducing the word 'self-critique'
as distinct from 'self-judgement'. Self-critique happens along the way of
shakuhachi naturally, but I have encountered too many ex-musicians for whom
self-judgement was an overwhelming force.
Stav, I started shakuhachi in my 40's and it changed my life profoundly in
ways much wider and deeper than I could have ever predicted. If you love
