I do not find this at http://www.azstarnet.com/~solo/cageopus.htm, which is
a very thorough list (and from which I get the other references).

Perhaps you are thinking of

1976: Branches (Improvisation 1b).* amplified pods, cactuses and other
plant materials; performed as a solo, it begins with a performance of Child
of Tree {Cunningham dance} [Peters edition 66684]

1975: Child of Tree. (Improvisation Ia) amplified percussion made from
plant materials {solo Cunningham dance} [Peters edition 66685]

1983: Ryoanji. * Solos for Ob, Fl, Cb (optional voc adlib),Vce, Trb with
Perc or Orchl Obbligato (1983-85) [Peters edition 66986]; commercial
recording made; compact disc available (1998).

Many of Cage's works require the use of contact microphones; I think, for
instance, they are used in

1977: Inlets. (Improvisation II) conch shells, water, tape {Merce
Cunningham and Morris Graves, Cunningham dance} [Peters edition 66787]

1977: Pools (Improvisation IIa). Conch Shells, water, tape

which make use of (or just are, I guess you could say) the gurgles of water
in conch shells.
