I've always been curious about the cicada's hearing. When they really get
going their whole body must vibrate some and whether their hearing gets
turned off, whether they can't hear at all or if they may, in fact, enjoy
it.

Anyway, the decibel level at a cicada's 'ear' must be pretty high. Talk
about feeling the sound!
