I live in high and dry New Mexico and, to say the least, am concerned =
about my shakuhachi cracking. Currently it is sitting in a sealed =
plastic box in which there is a bowl of water . I put a natural sponge =
into the bowl which helps disperse the water vapor. This provides a =
humid micro-environment for the instrument. The humidity level is =
monitored with a hygrometer.
What is the range of humidity which is best for the shakuhachi? That is =
between danger of cracking and too much humidity.
Thanks a lot amigos.
Tom Caperton
