Hi Everyone,

     Zachary mentioned that some sankyoku players play the 'U' with shading
of the second and fourth holes. We actually use that fingering for
honkyoku pieces and usually play sankyoku pieces with the third hole open
so it depends on what particular school you are talking about. Bruce said
it all in his letter...learn to play as many different 'U's as possible as
it all depends on what kind of a sound or nuance you want each particular
time you are playing the note. You may even want to play different
variations of the note in the same piece...
