Advice

I've just had some work done on my shakuhachi, after a very bad crack
developed in the bore, and in the process, the bore was relacquered. It
all works great now, except that I've developed a half-moon rash where
the lacquer in the bore comes in contact with my lower lip. I know that
lacquer comes from a plant closely related to poison ivy, and this rash
looks just like the poison oak I had some years ago in California, so .
. .

I'm wondering if the wealth of experience in the shakuhachi list can
provide any good remedies or expedients for dealing with this rash until
the lacquer dries sufficiently to be no longer a problem.

yours itchingly,
Tom Hare
