Deana,
You attended the Shak concert in Milwaukee last month? Are you native to =
the mid-west? =20

Would someone mind emailing me the Coltrane poster attachment =
privately please? The attachment came through the digest as text and I =
would really like to see it!=20

Also - while we on the Coltrane subject - Brian Ritchie's performance =
in Milwaukee last month included his adaptation of Coltrane's "Living =
Space." I was surprised to find that it was my favorite piece in the =
program. There are a few traditional/contemporary tunes that I think are =
very beautiful on Shakuhachi (Amazing Grace & Summertime spring to mind) =
but they still don't "feel" native to Shakuhachi to me. "Living Space" =
had that very pure and natural "feel" that I enjoy in Honkyoku pieces. =
Brian mentioned that he felt Coltrane may have actually written it for =
Shakuhachi so that may explain it.=20

  Deana
