If you limit the analogy to "vertical bamboo edge-blown flute," that's the
Korean *tanso* and *t'ongso* (*t'ungso*).

The standard tanso is much higher pitched than the Japanese shakuhachi, the
mouthpiece is notched rather than flat-edged, has four front holes of which
one is never used, have an entirely different historical context, the
t'ongso has a membrane-covered hole, etc., etc.
