Since we're talking about spam...
I have heard that one place spammers get their addresses is by
running programs that "harvest" the addresses from random web pages.
Since I get a *lot* of spam (getting close to 5 meg a week) I tried
to google my own e-mail address. The only hits are in the archives
for this mailing list.
Could that be changed? Some mailing list software disguises addresses
in the archives by, say, replacing the "@" with " AT ". Others only
allow you to read the archives by entering an easily discovered
(except by harvesters) password.
Just a thought.
