Let me start off by saying that I'm not very good at
playing the shakuhachi. I've got a old bamboo 1.8 and
a wooden 1.8 that I bought in Japan and a Yuu that I
bought off of Ebay. I learned how to play on the
wooden flute. At first it was hard but I eventually
got to be able to play up into the third octave. The
old bamboo flute was hard to play any notes. But now
I can play that flute just as well. I can play the
Yuu well untill I get halfway through the second
octave. Then the best I can get is screeching sounds.
I'm not sure if it's because I suck or if the Yuu
sucks. It's probabaly me and I just need to keep
trying.
