And in fact, this is an excellent exercise for writers. You take
another's work and _actually_ type it out or hand write it, and then
continue at any point with where it takes _you_. The act of
typing/writing, although essentially copying, also pushes your mind
into a different shape more than just reading (or in the case of
Shakuhachi, listening) does. Your own style becomes clearer in
contrast. Try it...

Imitation is also the source of inspiration.
