It is, but one of the facts of the matter is that the sound of
Shakuhachi, one of the most beautiful things in the world originates
from hierarchical, rigid, closed, conservative, xenophobic and
consumerist culture there is. Because of the Shakuhachi and so many
others, don't you think this list deserves more balanced adjectives?
After all, evil can beget only evil.

Personally, I avoid playing western tunes with the Shakuhachi just
because of the lack of Japanese heart. If I want the feeling of western
culture, I whip out my cd player.

BTW: I'm sorry if you feel Japanese are xenophobic. I have yet to
experience such a thing and I'm engaged to be married to a Japanese.
