I don't think this is a good idea. I've had to re-sell two gorgeous flutes
made by a well-known shakuhachi seller in Japan because his craftsman soaked
the flutes in a lethal concoction of chemicals that seem to out-gas in small
quantities for eternity. I was allergic to the chemicals. I wouldn't soak a
shakuhachi in any liquid that I wouldn't drink.
