There was another important question in James' email that hasn't been
addressed yet and I think it affects a lot of players. Myself for one!
He mentioned the "subvocalization" phenomena that happens sometimes .
. . or a lot of the time. I even heard one of the Japanese Masters
at the New York festival making a lot of these vocal sounds during his
beautiful shakuhachi performance and it is quite distracting. I also
heard Michael Gould mention at the Colorado camp that he had spent a
lot of time getting over this sometime in his past.
Has anyone addressed this in a way that could be shared as a technique
for stopping the little "subvocalization" grunts, groans and ahhh's?
