Hi everybody. I will be in California and Texas in late April doing a series
of concert and lectures. If at all possible, I'd love to see folk from this
forum at any of these events (they are free, except the main performance at
the SF Jewish Community Center). I've also uploaded this information to my

The Melbern C. Glasscok Center for Humanitarian Studies, Lecture &
Performance

"Seeking Spirituality in the Performing Arts of Japan: Music, Dance, and
Theater as Paths to Self-Knowledge"

Shakuhachi and Japanese music specialist Christopher Yohmei will talk about
spirituality in Japanese music, using examples of Buddhist, Shinto and
Shamanistic music. The lecture will conclude with a performance of a Kinko
Style shakuhachi solo meditative honkyoku, "Song of the Cranes."

Date & Time: Tuesday April 29th, 3:00 PM

Texas
