I am sad to see all the acrimony, suffering upon suffering...

My family stood by and watched as Beirut was destroyed by these same kinds
of hatreds and greed and ignorance (the three poisons referred to by the
Buddhists)... I now see New York suffering, I saw Beirut suffering, I think
of the terrible suffering of the Japanese after Hiroshima and Nagasaki....
this suffering goes far beyond any politics or cultural views... we all
suffer...

There are ways out of the suffering for all of these people... and sui zen
is one of those ways... I apologize to anyone offended by my political
views... and pray with my heart and what little I can play on my flute for
the release of all beings from suffering...

whether you play sabi or shakuhachi, whether you meditate or pray, please go
beyond the hatreds to see the suffering of all beings, please release all
beings from suffering....

today I saw a musician down on the mall playing the harp... he was playing
such peaceful music for the sake of everyone that happened by...
