Re: acoustic impedances; what makes a good instrument

Sorry, I just had to step back in and come to Mark's defense before he
becomes the shakuhachi world equivalent of Giordano Bruno. What is this
rabid anti-science strain that appears on the list everytime someone so
much as mentions that shakuhachi acoustics would be fun to study? I
thought Isaac made some good points and I'm the first to go ballistic
when the "skeptics" (aka the junior g-men of science with their secret
psuedoscience decoder rings) "debunk" anything they think they can call
pseudoscience (never mind that they haven't a clue as to what science
is and how it works). But unless I'm mistaken I didn't think I heard
anybody say that what they learned, if anything, about bore acoustics
would allow them to create the 6 million dollar shakuhachi virtuoso. So
why all the noise ?
