Is anyone aware of any "successful" attempts to play shakuhachi
literature=20
on other instruments, or to harmonize shakuhachi literature? Regarding=20
harmonization, if you know of any success attempts, could you describe
it?

Looking for recordings of Tadao Sawai I came across and purchased
a CD called "Music for Koto and Flute" because Amazon's website made
it look like he was playing on it. He's not. But the two
performers, Kazue Kudo (Koto) and Kazue Frances Asawa (silver flute)
do an excellent job on Hana and Ichikotsu.

In particular, the flute sounds remarkably like a shakuhachi being
played in the Tozan style.

Is that what you had in mind?
