Hi Dan. I know a man who lived near me in Saitama, Japan who playes
hocchiku and he goes to Kochi to do o-henro (pilgrimage) of the 88
temples every year by foot as a blessing for his deceased wife. (Kiku
Day knows him very well too...Igarashi-san desu). At every temple he
plays only one piece--Shoganken Reibo. He moved me very much. It's quite
a demanding journey from what he says.
