Yes, I guess I should have clarified what they meant by "Rookie" !

They were looking for someone who had not yet reached 40 years old, and had
been playing Shakuhachi for sometime. Someone who was ready to make the jump
from amateur to professional.

So ,Peter fulfills the definition..
