Hi Bruce, thanks for that reply. I'm sorry but I am
just a beginner. What are these notes ue no re and so
on? Are they all various finger shadings and meris of
re? I'm not so hot on cents either. How about you,
have you heard the re meri as being that tiny bit
above tsu? And by the way, it was in a sankyoku peice
that this all happened. As if there might be some
desired effect of two notes (one from Shakuhachi, one
from Koto) being only just out from each other maybe.
And about so many notes in one octave - that's
fantastic! Would that be all through the "oral
transmission", or do these many notes come into the
notation? If they are notated, then what lineage would
that be in? I'd love to hear more about it.
