It is all a matter of choice.................. If one's work is =
teaching, by all means there should be a charge for lessons. If one =
chooses to give lessons without charge then so be it. I studied with =
Ronnie for a number of years always felt that the price for the lesson =
was more than fair. Especially considering his rank and experience. =
One couldn't get that value for the price in any other musical venue. =
I'm also a singer and to get a lesson from a top teacher it is not =
unusual to pay $100.00 + for a lesson. And even at that price you =
won't get the return of value that you'd get from a lesson with Ronnie. =
=20
I've taught lessons both for pay and no pay. For me it was the =
circumstances surrounding them. I have another job where I earn a =
living. And my students were young people and prepairing for scholastic =
performances so I was glad to donate my time in instructions. If an =
adult wanted to study I'd probably charge a nominal rate. But I don't =
depend upon teachning to make my living.=20
Again it comes down to choice.
