Hello,

I'd like to second Kiku's suggestion. I've traveled to the U.K. from Japan several times over the last decade and never had trouble with my shakuhachis as England, Wales, and Scotland all tend to get a good bit of rain, which seems to agree with the flutes. France, or other places on the Continent seem a bit more dry and you need to be careful to keep your shakuhachi in plastic when not playing it. There are great places to play in England's green and pleasant land out in the countryside...I remember playing beside some waterfalls up in the Yorkshire Dales, and up atop Hadrian's Wall, some small islands around Inverness, and also in the Black Mountains of Wales, where I got lost several hours and was trekking through a muddy river and tall brambles...lots of fun when I think about it now but maybe not at the time it was happening.

                                          Cheers,

                                                              D.R., Kochi, Japan
