Often when I play a meri or dai no meri note I'm not sure I'm breathing, but
know I must be because there's sound. It's like you're whole body is one
muscle that just needs to slightly move to get a big result. Very little
effort is needed if you use everything you have. They teach this in martial
arts. You don't hit someone with your open palm. You hit them with your
whole body and the palm is just what makes contact first.
