Hi all
So I was having that conversation with Joel. And, I
had mentioned how I felt relationship between tsu-meri
and u/chi-meri, and so I was not surprised that they
were having the same pitch intervals (with ro and re
respectively). But I had been surprised that ri-meri
was also the same, as though it was related to them in
the same way as they are related to each other. Then
last night I started playing Tamuke but just lasing
around, and I noticed, I was playing it in a different
key! Ro was re instead! What it made me notice was
that it seemed like this:
ro tsu-meri re chi ri-meri, and
re u ri ro tsu-meri
are the same. I mean, the one scale is the
transposition of the other. Sorry if I am very dim for
only just cottoning on to this! Anyway, that makes
sense in terms of the first two parts in both scales,
where the ro tsu-meri interval is the same as for re
u. Then the last two would be the chi ri-meri interval
relating to the ro tsu-meri interval.
Is this what is said? Any opinions?
Best wishes
Justin.
P.S. for anyone who hasn't been following this, I'm
refering to what was implied by the pitch analysing
that I did - that all three refered to intervals are
all the same at approximately 75 cents.
