Hi Dan
The semi-tones are all 100 cents apart, but aren't
they all different measurements of cyles apart, the
further up or down the scale you go?

Isn't that only when you play 2 tones simultaneously,
when they are very close in pitch? But we can still
perceive that tuning systems are different (different
temperaments) even if played in monophonic melody
(hope I'm using those terms right!). The percweption
you've mentioned surely wouldn't come in to solo
honkyoku?
Best wishes
Justin.
